Orange City and Deltona, FL
To do the best job possible, you need the proper tools. At Terry Soule, DDS, using state-of-the-art advances in dental technology is part of the way we provide the highest level of comprehensive and compassionate care to our patients. Let’s take a deeper look at how your Orange City dentist Dr. Terry Soule uses technology as part of our program of care.
Conebeam: This three-dimensional imaging is used only by practices operating at the forefront of dental science, like Terry Soule, DDS. Especially helpful for diagnostics prior to implant dentistry or other forms of oral surgery, conebeam provides accurate images that can focus on only a few teeth, or be widened out to take comprehensive images of the entire skull. Conebeam also can be used to diagnose findings that normal X-rays are not able to detect—and all at a fraction of the radiation emitted by traditional X-ray technology.
Digital X-rays: X-ray technology has been used as a diagnostic tool in dentistry for several decades, but digital upgrades make this an even more beneficial tool for your Deltona family dentist. Digital X-ray technology generates images that are clearer and more precise while emitting just a slight amount of radiation compared to traditional X-ray machines.
Terry Soule, DDS, uses four varieties of digital X-rays:
- Panoramic, which are ideal for identifying defects in the teeth, jawbones, sinuses, and jaw joints.
- Bitewing X-rays are used to obtain images of the areas between teeth to identify decay that is otherwise undetectable by the eye of even the most well trained dentist.
- Periapical, which provide a detailed view of the entire tooth structure, even the root, of as many as three teeth that rest adjacent to one another in the mouth.
Laser Dentistry: Laser technology allows many dental procedures to be performed in a fraction of the time compared to normal means, and does so with far less discomfort for the patient and a significantly reduced recovery time.
Our soft-tissue laser immediately cauterizes any incisions made, which means no stitches or sutures are required, and there is minimal bleeding. This soft-tissue laser can be used to treat gum disease, recontour the gum line, or to remove lesions in the mouth.
The hard-tissue laser can be used in place of the traditional dental drill, and often is much less painful thereby decreasing the need for anesthetic. Hard-tissue lasers also are more precise, helping to create a smooth surface that is ideal for bonding to new fillings or other dental restorations.
Our commitment to state-of-the-art, compassionate, comfortable care
